About Rebecca

Oh hey!

My name is Rebecca Ramirez de Arellano (pronounced Rah-me-rez day ah-ri-jah-no).  Say it really fast and roll the r’s and you’re probably saying it correctly.  It took me 4 years of avoiding saying it while I dated my husband and then a number of weeks practicing it before the wedding because I figured at that point there was no way of avoiding it.

I am originally from England but I grew up in China and Thailand.  From there I set out on my own travelling and living in Togo, West Africa; Vancouver, Canada and Kolkata, India, volunteering and writing (you can click here to find the book I wrote).

Now I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with my Latino husband and am a

licensed massage therapist

birth doula

and owner of my own business Enci Wellness LLC.

I do everything with my whole heart – including over thinking, over feeling and over sharing.  I’m a Highly Sensitive Person who is trying to learn how to balance my deep emotions, intuition and empathy with letting stuff go and self-care.

I have always had a passion for natural health and wellness and from the age of 7 fasted, exercised, always thought fruit was better than chocolate and practiced deep breathing because I believed “prevention was better than cure”.

After also seeing my mum control and cure hyperthyroidism with a plant based diet, it was a natural progression for me too as we cooked meals that were plant based, gluten free and refined sugar free.

I come alive and am energized creating, exploring and talking about natural health and wellness for the whole person – body, soul and spirit – and how that health and wellness translates into how we love ourselves, each other, other living creatures and our earth.

I have created Fruit Pray Love as a way for me to share and explore with you this holistic approach to natural health and wellness that is such an intrinsic part of who I am.  I also believe that these three words are a simple, basic reminder of holistic health.

Here you will find recipes that are plant based

minimally processed

refined sugar free

and (often) gluten free;

amazing products and brands that I use, love and fit the values I hold;

my ever evolving quest for sustainable living and a natural, chemical/toxin free household;

and some of my super deep thoughts and feelings about life, faith and how I’m learning the importance of choosing joy, keeping a strong self respect and also a soft heart in a world that’s constantly presenting opportunities to become victimized, resentful and bitter.

Thank you for being here.  I hope you will journey with me and together we will learn, grow and find inspiration and courage on the way.

Eat fruit, pray often, love fiercely,

Rebecca
